Proprietary Molding Know-How Realizing Multi-Material Composites with Material Suited to Purpose

We have successfully addressed the challenges of conventional metal gears such as noise, weight, and lubricant requirements by overmolding fiber-reinforced resin onto the surface of metal gears using our proprietary know-how, significantly improving overall gear performance. A key to this realization was concentrating the weld lines of the overmold at the gear tooth tips to enhance the strength of the tooth profile. Additionally, by orienting the fibers within the resin coating on the tooth profile from the tooth root toward the tooth tip, we have enhanced sliding characteristics.
